Nancy O'Dell's initial job in the broadcast industry was as a reporter/anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. In later years, she was employed by WCBD as an anchor in the morning and a crime reporter. O'Dell's stories in Charleston about the police's leniency in DUI cases prompted a State Law Enforcement Division to examine. This led to the state government imposing more stringent rules in these instances. Ms. O'Dell received her Best Report of the Award from the Associated Press for South Carolina's media. O'Dell's experience in Charleston was the reason she joined as a co-anchor, reporter and NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV. Prior to joining Access Hollywood she was a anchor on the weekdays and was also NBC's weekend co-anchor. In addition to her current role as anchor on Access Hollywood Ms. O'Dell is also a contributor to NBC News' Today and in addition to Dateline NBC. She's covered The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys The Golden Globe Awards and co-hosted several Pre-ShowArrivals Shows to The Emmys And The Golden Globes. She hosted both The Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants.
